Cheapest Ferrari money can buy

August 16, 2009

Being a big fan of front wheel drive hatchbacks, i used a Seat Leon as my daily driver for a year and it was practically one of the best cars i’de driven, it handled great, was light, great fuel economy(unless you’ve always got your foot down) and best of all it had the loudest, sharpest and the best stereo and speakers in the world! And i am a major fan of retro styled cars, i drive a 2008 Ford Mustang GT which is styled after the original 1964 Ford Mustang. So naturally being the best of both world the little Fiat 500 is definitely an attractive car to me. It’s actually one of my favorite cars on the market right now. Its got a great combination of retro styling, modern craftsmanship and build quality, size, and a balanced power to weight ratio. Front wheel drive and just enough power should make the car perfect and fun to drive. I would love to get my hands on one for a test drive to find out how fun it is to drive and how great it handles but sadly, we don’t have a Fiat dealer in Kuwait anymore which is why its pretty hard to see one of these on the street (although i have heard of one or two).
I wanted to test drive the Fiat 500 Abarth but i just found a more interesting version; the Fiat 500 Ferrari!

It is essentially the same as the regular Fiat 500, no changes to the suspension or engine. But it comes strictly in this Ferrari red paint job, and with a top of the line sound system, an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, a black steering wheel with red stitching and 16-inch alloy wheels. Also, it’s exhaust has been made by a sister Fiat and Ferrari company to provide a throatier deep sound. Fiat is keeping its run of limited edition 500s to a minimum of 200; so the automaker will also provide a numbered plate to show off where each model falls in the production run. The car will run you around 16’000 GBP which the equivalent of about 7’500 KD give or take a few hundred for taxes and insurance. It a bit expensive but i think you would be getting what you payed for.

Sounds cool, looks hot, not as cool as the abarth…still prefer the alfa MiTO GTA though.
